As Morning Data continues to grow we are looking to expand our IT support and infrastructure department. This role encompasses first and second line support of both internal and external IT systems. The role will encompass scheduled tasks such as the monitoring of Windows and Linux servers, checking of backup logs and installation of hardware and software. It will also feature ad-hoc tasks such as responding to issues that arise on both Morning Data's and clients systems.
The hours are 8.45am - 5.15pm, Monday to Friday with occasional out of hours work. There will also be occasional travel within the UK to attend client sites or training courses. The candidate should be willing to learn about the insurance industry as all staff will be encouraged to study for relevant insurance examinations.
The person we are looking for will be enthusiastic, hard working and eager to learn. They will be able to relate to all sorts of people from the MD of a client company to a new trainee. They will have good analytical skills and will be able to cope with the pressure of having responsibility for multiple time-dependant tasks. A friendly, can-do attitude is essential and will be rewarded by being part of an experienced team that believes that hard work should also be enjoyable.
The Morning Data Systems are based around the Windows Server 2003 platform with an Oracle 10g database. Deployment is based around Citrix XenServer 5.5 and Citrix XenApp Fundamentals 2.0. Our PC platform is Windows XP and Windows 7. As well as the previous technologies, any experience in the following would also be advantageous:
