This years' Women in the City category awards saw Kirstin Duffield, Managing Director of Morning Data, collect a special Highly Commended award for her work in the technology sector. Alongside other category winners such as staff from KPMG LLP, Aedas, Channel 4 Television, Standard Bank Plc, DWF LLP and Barclays shows how far Morning Data has come over the past seven years under Kirstins' stewardship.

Achievements such as the internal training programme and the CII qualifications gained by her team were picked out for a special mention (Morning Data staff achieve CII hat-trick) as was her talent for guiding the company and its staff through an exceptionally challenging time.
“I’m honoured to be highly commended in the Technology Category. Whilst it is recognition of my achievements it is also valued confirmation to all women that technology, is as open to women as men. This award also recognises my drive to support the progress of women and the education of the next generation in what is a dynamic fast moving industry. In changing times, where women around the world are being seen differently and have carved new opportunities for themselves, I feel it is important for all women to strive towards their goals, on route those in business can contribute greatly, stamping their own identity on boardrooms everywhere.”, Kirstin Duffield
In presenting her with her certificate, Jonathan Soar, Master, The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists said,
“Kirstin Duffield has introduced new working methodologies in her company which support all members of staff equally. Kirstin has trained and nurtured a number of women members of staff through this process and has been able to promote them within the company. She has introduced a 'Level Up' programme of education, wellbeing, salary equality and engagement. Through this programme, Kirstin has championed and ensured that all her staff are fully trained not only for their jobs, but also in their clients' business area. Kirstin has also taken her enterprise to a new level in Africa where she has persuaded clients to support the funding, welfare and continued care of a number of goat-herds for widowed mothers, thus giving them independence and a future.”
It goes without saying that everyone at Morning Data is exceptionally proud of Kirstin and hopes that this is the first of many awards for both her and the company.
About Women in the City
Launched in 2003 Women in the City has built a strong presence in London’s business hubs and its Annual Celebration Lunch is one of the City’s signature events. Its Woman of Achievement Award recognises senior and partner level women who, in addition to fulfilling a demanding job, are actively supporting the progress of women. This year, two new Award categories have been introduced – Medicine/Healthcare and Technology. Category Winners compete for the coveted Woman of Achievement Award and a place on the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Accelerated Development Program.
