Kay international, an Independent Insurance Broker and underwriting agency in Bury Street, London, selected NOVUS to take over from their in-house system after a long search for the right alternative. NOVUS encompassed all the requirements for a robust, secure, scalable system that combined both Broking and underwriting functionality.

Every department needed different features on their requirements list, from tailorable client documentation for the UK department to flexible slip styles and cresta zone agregations for the international department. Motor binders could be dealt with more efficiently with NOVUS's inward bordereaux load and the Marine team were looking for a system to cover both Facultative and Open Cover Cargo. NOVUS has been designed to cover all classes of business as well as provision for rates and clause deployment to meet the needs of Broking and Underwriting.

The project was given a 2 month window from start to roll out including data migration and training. The project to deliver the fully hosted Z3 option commenced late April. Four days later the system was ready and the database configuration got underway. Data migration was undertaken with the in house IT and Morning Data teams working to transfer as much data as required.
