The Team

Morning Data is a high-tech team in whom professionalism and customer service are combined with vision and integrity. The faces you see below are the voices you hear on the phone and the names you will see assigned to your queries on the support website. As clients you will know the individual members of staff and enjoy the confidence in consistency of staff identity and personal contact with the developers. There are no "smoke and mirrors", we are all here for you in the UK.

Management

Kirstin Duffield, Managing Director - BSc(Hons), DipM, FBCS, CertCii(London Market), CertCA

After graduating with a BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree, a fellow of the BCS and has a DipM in Marketing and working in the IT marketing and training field for six years Kirstin applied her skills in Morning Data to bring enhanced client relations. Kirstin took the helm of Morning Data in 2006 and has led the company to its new development centre location and the introduction of the total support and systems package for clients who want a one stop shop.

Kirstin has spearheaded the ethos of the company which is the holistic approach to Client Service and product support combined with professionalism and strong long term cooperative relationships within the Morning Data community. She has been recognised for this ethos winning several awards both personally and on behalf of the company. Kirstin has Cert CII (London Market) and Cert CA in Compliance and is studying Advanced Broking Practices and Reinsurance for DipCii.

Mike Skinner, Technical Director - BSc(hons), Cert CII(London Market), Cert CA

Graduated from London University's Royal Holloway College with a BSc(Hons) in Applied Physics and Electronics, Mike went on to work in the field of communication systems for the emergencies services and then software team leader for one of the top 5 access control manufacturers in the UK for 9 years and finally as a project manager for the world's largest utility company before joining Morning Data.

From his experience in a variety of languages, Mike has taken up the role of development and support of classic NOVUS as well as pushing forward the development of the .Net version, eNOVUS, alongside the rest of the development team. Working with the team, Mike has brought in many new technologies and process to allow the adaption of an Agile development process as well as bring in the concept of Key Account Managers to increase our visibility to our clients. Mike has also taken on a supporting role to our administration team. Mike passed his Foundation Insurance Test with an impressive 97% and went on to obtained Cert CII (London Market), Cert CA in Compliance and a qualification in bookkeeping.

Simon Whittle - Senior BA & Technical Sales

With 20 years experience in Insurance IT software design, programming and business analysis Simon has a wealth of experience in General Insurance and Financial Sector working with mission-critical enterprise-wide business applications. His desire to working the Lloyd’s market for a software house with a fast development pipeline brought his and Morning Data’s paths to cross. It was immediately obvious Simon was a perfect match and strengthens our presence in London working with Kirstin on new business and client developments. In his own words a fanatical problem solver and a real sense of providing clients with what they need the product and the team will be undoubtedly enhanced with his involvement.

Bryan James ACII, Chartered Insurer, Senior BA & Project Manager

35 plus years in the Insurance and Reinsurance industry. Responsibilities will include project managing system implementation of the eNOVUS product providing consultancy on regulatory compliance around the system functionality. Bryan will work to ensure that Morning Data Clients have suitable expectation management and delivery matches that, advising where other processes may need to be addressed. This will ensure that the system is implemented within the organisation efficiently with all stakeholders on board and satisfied. Bryan possesses expertise in Understanding complex reinsurance problems and ensuring that they are dealt with efficiently, producing suitable workarounds when systems cannot be adapted to client requirements within an acceptable framework. Dealing with the interpretation of the principles of the FCA in a constructive manner to the benefit of all. Training Client staff to understand the business that they are in and the systems that they are using.

Dr Marek Cropper, Snr BA Developer, Board Chairman

Dr Marek Cropper has been designing, writing and maintaining software for the Direct & Reinsurance Broker for nearly 35 years and has extensive experience of the Technical Accounting functions, the Insurance market and the IT issues involved. He is responsible for the ground-breaking design of the Morning Data software as well as the unique funding controls.

Richard Gillibrand, Software Developer - B Eng (Hons), MSc, PhD, FIT

Richard has spent the last 7 years working for a large multi-national company as a support software engineer on Enterprise scale data loss prevention (DLP) and regulatory compliance products. He developed an internal issue tracking system and was heavily involved in quality assurance and deployment management of the products.

Richard brings to Morning Data varied skills, from C# & Java to SQL Server and web development. His skill set compliments our current team bringing a wealth of commercial experience.

Igor Koveshnikov, Software Developer - BSc, Cert CII(London Market), Cert CA, MCPD

Igor has joined Morning Data as part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership project with Bournemouth University. With experience in .NET development he brings a vast amount of knowledge in recent Microsoft technologies and is working on our conversion project.

Igor has passed his Cert CII (London Market) Insurance exam, gained Microsoft Certified Professional Developer 2008 accreditation and Microsoft Certified Windows Developer 2010 qualification.

Peter Gelder, Software Developer - BSc, Cert CII(London Market)

Upon completing his degree in E-Commerce & Internet Systems Peter has worked in development and in the IT support industry. He has nearly 2 years experience in IT support and brings a number of skills to the team. He will be responsible for the everyday running of our systems and will also assist with our clients IT related issues.

Chris Hynes, Software Developer - BSc(hons), FIT, LM1, LM2

Chris joined Morning Data shortly after completing his degree in Web Design and Development. He brings experience in a number of open source programming languages. Working with the development team, he will be building new features and working on our conversion project while maintaining our social networking profiles.

He is currently studying for his CII and Microsoft Certified Professional Developer accreditation.

Support and QA

John Palmer, Support Manager - Cert CII (London Market), CII Takaful

John Palmer has significant experience of our products gained from working within the London Insurance Market, as IT Director with one of our clients, for many years. He joined us in 2002 and has brought a wealth of technical skills into the company together with a solid background in the insurance business. John's specialities are Oracle databases, data migration, systems architecture and product deployment. John manages the support team within Morning Data and ensures our clients receive the best possible personal service from our team of specialists.

John has successfully completed his Cert CII (London Market) and having passed his joint CII/BCS 'Certificate in IT for Insurance Professionals' and is one exam away from completing his Dip CII. John has also been studying the principles of Islamic Finance and has recently passed his CII advanced diploma unit in Takaful.

Suzanne Loveless, Office Manager & Directors PA. FIT, LM1, LM2

With responsibilities for company Accounting and Administration, Marketing literature, and the managing the varied logistics of travel for our team. All those nice things one needs to run an efficient office including our own HR and operational compliance.

Sue has recently passed her level two accounts and bookkeeping this along with her eNOVUS user experience enables Sue to support clients with most of their accounting questions. Sue has also gained her CII Foundation in Insurance. Whatever the question Sue has the answer. Every company should have a Sue and fortunately we do!

Sapphire Horie, Admin & Sales Coordinator

Sapphire joins the admin team with responsibilities in Admin, PR, Sales Support, and Events coordination. Sapphire is fluent in Japanese and confident in Spanish and has a strong client focused experience including working for the United Nations. Sapphire will also be our main first contact for Clients calls and will be able to build to providing support as well as directing calls to the appropriate department.

Patricia Dare, Customer Support Technician

Tricia has recently joined Morning Data having over 20 years broad experience in software design, development, test and support. She worked in the telecoms industry where she was Software Engineering Manager, which included responsibility for delivery, support and productisation of real-time monitoring applications. Most recently, she has worked for two years in the insurance industry, initially as a Project Manager and then as a Software Development Manager. Tricia has Levels 1 - 3 Bookkeeping, and will be supporting customers with the NOVUS IBA Ledger, updating user guides and documentation, and testing. Tricia is currently working part-time, and is in the office every morning.

Rebecca Duffield, Admin Assistant

Rebecca continues the blood line, learning the ropes of Morning Data from the ground up. Her responsibilities include office and Accounts supporting Sue and Sapphire.

The Board

Janet Cropper, Director

Janet was awarded Kent Business Woman of the Year during her career in Marketing, PR and Language training. She has spent over 25 years providing excellent services to a number of Blue Chip companies. Her role is that of Marketing, PR and client relations ensuring that communication channels are free and efficiently maintained. Janet has responsibility for contracts and edits the Tower Times composing the back page which is never remotely connected with computing.

Donn Cantwell, Non-Executive Director

Donn Cantwell has an outstanding track record in his field, with more than 30 years in Non-Marine Reinsurance broking and is currently heading up the Non-Marine Reinsurance activities at Iris Insurance Brokers in Fenchurch Avenue.
